Damp wood burns inefficiently - it smoulders and releases a lot of harmful smoke particles. Wood logs with a moisture content under 20% is an incredibly efficient, carbon-neutral, eco-friendly heat source. Unfortunately dry firewood can soak up moisture from the surrounding air if not stored in optimal conditions.

Instructions : switch on and push the prongs 5mm into the log, the screen will show you the percentage of water content. The lower the reading the drier the log and the more efficiently and cleanly it will burn.
